About Us
Promoting and fostering music in Lincoln, IL
Founded in 1986, the Lincoln Area Music Society (LAMS) was founded to give musicians of all ages a chance to share their talents with the community. LAMS consists of three separate community ensembles which are all open to any members who would like to join. The LAMS chorale performs year-round, our Orchestra performs joint concerts in the Winter and Spring along with the Chorale, and our Summer band performs 4 concerts at Latham Park during the summer. LAMS also fosters musical growth and education through our scholarship awards. Orchestra
Julia Kasa, Director
The LAMS orchestra, under the direction of Julia Kasa, is composed of instrumentalists from the community. Julie welcomes all members of the community. The ensemble performs two concerts per year, one in the Winter and on in the Spring, and both are performed at the Lincoln Community High School Auditorium. They rehearse once a week during the Fall and Spring on Sundays in the Lincoln Community High School band room. They play a wide variety of music from Christmas favorites to contemporary pieces, standard orchestral repertoire, and exciting yet obscure works. We would love to see you at either the next concert or rehearsal.
